Read This Article to Know How CBD Can Work On Dogs

CBD is considered a non-intoxicating compound found in the cannabis. Medical researchers have revealed quite a few fascinating discoveries related to CBD. Firstly, it can usually counteract the THC’s intoxicating effects as marijuana strains usually contain both CBD and THC compounds. Secondly, CBD may not provide a similar high that THC alone can produce.

An interesting fact to note that CBD can offer an array of medical benefits. As an example, CBD  is a useful medication for those children who are suffering from epilepsy and studies have shown that CBD can reduce our anxiety, and also provide relief from chronic pain.

Few enthusiast CBD sellers now have started selling it for pets too. Many dog owners, particularly are offering CBD to their dogs to treat certain maladies. We already know that CBD is quite helpful to we humans, but a few studies suggest that it can help also your dogs.

Many people, therefore are buying CBD gummies for pets and themselves from reputed and authenticated smoke shop online.  One of the popular names is the Express Smoke Shop. They have been leading the market for long tenure and have mastered the trade.

Responsible dog owners need to ensure, CBD will not cause any issues, and hence it is necessary to monitor your dog very carefully whether they show any symptoms as follows:

  • Tremors
  • Dry mouth
  • Lightheadedness
  • Low blood pressure
  • Drowsiness

Most hemp-derived CBD will contain a maximum of up to 0.3% THC, but still, no vet will be ready to prescribe CBD because they may be held responsible.

  • Arthritis
  • Epilepsy
  • Autoimmune diseases

CBD use for dogs having epilepsy

Few researchers in March 2016, conducted research to determine the CBD effects on epileptic dogs. In this study, the CBD oil that was used was created by a well-respected organization that is Colorado-based.

Already this firm was selling pet oil that has proved to be very popular. In the above study, the researchers used 30 beagles of CBD oil with high doses. The researcher team used 3 dosing methods:

  • Transdermal cream
  • Tincture
  • Capsule

They found that among them the safest method was by using the tincture. They observed a few mild side effects, like diarrhea and elevated liver enzymes. However, researchers claim that no abnormalities were observed that were severe enough to stop the research process on the dogs.

The results seen were positive enough and they thought of doing further clinical trials in the future. The first trial was done with CBD on a few epileptic dogs and dogs who were given the CBD showed a substantial reduction in their seizure frequency.

Unless and until political and legal clearance is available, it will be very difficult to conduct further studies on the CBD effects on dogs.

A few major areas that must be investigated in the animal study with CBD are the dose needed to get a beneficial response, and also the best method to administer it. We hope that in the coming years, such research will also take place and we will gain further knowledge of how CBD can help our pet dogs.
